8 + 9

Well a lot has happened in the last two days.

After waking up at a campsite in Pinckney, we made our way to Ann Arbor with Thomas and Mitch for an exciting day in the city. I won't go into great detail, as nothing terribly significant happened. We just wandered around and watched college kids, and then ate, and wandered some more, but it was a ton of fun nonetheless!

A very awesome person that many of you know, named Lauren, very graciously let us stay in her apartment last night, and even showed us some places around  campus that we would never have dared to find otherwise!

Our stay there was quite refreshing, and I think I speak for us both when I say that it put us in a much more thoughtful and reflective mood.

Also, the biggest thank you yet goes out to Laurens two room mates, who put up with our being there, even though it inconvenienced them. It meant a lot to us guys :)

Today was a good day as well, we met up with Nicks mom this morning and were eventually joined by his dad as well for a very filling dinner at Grizzly Peak Brewery. Thanks for the food and the place to hang during the day! Also, between you and me and everyone else reading this blog, I think it meant a lot to Nick to see the two of you!

Now comes the hard part.

As I write this, I am traveling quickly by train away from the great lakes state, and towards the windy city.

It was time to get out of Michigan and away from home. We were moving too slowly, spending too much money, and were not letting go of everything that we meant to leave behind for a bit while we experienced a larger reality than the one we have spent the last few years living in.

We really appreciate everyone who drove out to visit us, and I know we said we would do it again, but it was weighing too heavily on our wallets and our hearts. I hope you understand.

I will keep the blog posts coming, but this is goodbye for a while to all of you who we are going to miss greatly.

Also, I love you mom, you are an amazing person and an exemplary role model. Thank you so much for letting me take this trip and for always supporting me and my crazy aspirations.

And Dad, I love you too, I really hope we spend more time together next summer than we did this Summer, and I look forward to seeing your new place up North when I get back.

Brooke: I miss you a lot, you are really good you talk to, and are a really great person.  I admire your kindness and determination.

Jarrett: When does the next episode come out? And is there a new one yet? I'm sure I can find a place with WiFi to watch them in, and we can talk about them afterwards. I'll call you tomorrow!

Rachel: I love you :)

  1. Only your own two feet, literally and figuratively, can take you where you want to go. I believe, son, you are well on your way.
